# Architecture in Bahrain

> Collaborative Architecture in Bahrain: The Iconic Gateway for Diyar Al Muharraq, and 1 × 1, a material cartography proposed for Bahrain’s pavilion at the 2027 Venice Biennale.

Collaborative Architecture’s work for Bahrain spans civic infrastructure and research. For Diyar Al Muharraq, the studio designed The Iconic Gateway, a pedestrian bridge and landmark that marks the entrance to the new city, drawing on Bahrain’s maritime heritage and the interlocking arches of the Diyar identity. For the Kingdom’s national participation at the 2027 Venice Biennale, Collaborative Lab proposed 1 × 1, which traces the materials, energy and embodied carbon of a single square meter of Bahrain’s built space and the pathways toward a more resource-conscious architecture. The studio serves Bahrain from Riyadh and Mumbai.
