Computer learning center for an orphanage, Kozhikode
Spatial Palimpsests
Completed in 2006, Wrap-3 is a first-generation computer training center for an orphanage in South India. Designed for primary and secondary school students, the space takes the child’s perception as its point of departure, shaping an informal learning environment that feels familiar and inviting.

Layers of color and light
The interior is conceived as a series of wraps, juxtaposed to create overlapping layers of color and space. Natural light streaming from outside animates these layers, producing shifting views and spatial impressions.

A space for discovery
Childlike, doodle-inspired cut-outs punctuate the wraps. They function as graphic marks and as integral architectural elements, encouraging curiosity and accidental discovery. Together, the layered surfaces, openings and changing light create what the project describes as a “spatial kaleidoscope.”
Wrap-3’s ideas later informed Stacked Tectonics, a 1,858-square-meter school building by the studio on the same campus, extending the project’s exploration of child-centered space to a larger scale.
